A Little Sign Makes a Big Difference!

I recently blogged about my son's room here and one of the things on my to-do list was find something about the bed, to me it just looked to plain.

I wasn't sure what I wanted to put there… Maybe flags, picture frames, his artwork?  Then, on one of my days off I took a trip to my new favorite craft store, Hobby Lobby.  There I found some vintage looking metal car signs that happened to be 1/2 off at the time.  Originally they were around $14 each and I got them for about $7!

I LOVE the way they look there, its exactly what the space needed.

Now the license plate you see up there….

I did not buy from Hobby Lobby.  I actually took it off my car when I got the new plates, and thought it would be a great addition, I'm sure you can find some at vintage stores.

CAR ROOM TO-DO LIST

1. Finish the car bed
2. Find something to go above bed
3. Tool chest dresser
4. Signs above shelving unit
5. Book shelves
6. Window treatments
7. Lamp
8. Boxes for cubbies

Car Room

I have so many projects going on right now that I have completely neglected writing about them.  Every time I start I sit myself on the computer to begin but then end up finding myself looking for different ideas/ inspirations…. Hey can you blame me? I just want to start seeing progress!!!! lol  So, as of now, I keep telling myself to stay focused! Like I mentioned I have tons of projects to catch up on but for now I will focus on my son, Ayden's, room because that is the only room in the house that is anywhere near done.  Here it is thus far.

The painting was actually an idea his Dad wanted to do, it's the same ideas I did in my room growing up.  He also picked the colors.  The car bed was a big DIY project which I will have to talk about in another post.

(As you can see its still not done.)

The bedding is from target, the sheets were a brand new package that I found in the house.

I bought both the chalkboard and the rug from ikea.

The shelving unit I got from Target as well as the lamp, which is a project still waiting to happen.

This room I still need to:
1. Finish the car bed
2. Find something to go above bed
3. Tool chest dresser
4. Signs above shelving unit
5. Book shelves
6. Window treatments
7. Lamp
8. Boxes for cubbies

Although it is not complete, I am happy to announce that Ayden loves his room!!!
